TheMacular Degeneration Foundations Patron Ita Buttrose and leading ophthalmologist Dr Paul Beaumont are teaming up to give a special FREE presentation on Macular Degeneration (MD), Australias leading cause of blindness.
Macular Degeneration (MD) affects our central vision and is responsible for our ability to read, drive and see faces clearly. It can impact quality of life and independence and have a significant effect on healthy and independent ageing.
Dr Beaumont will share his wealth of knowledge on Macular Degeneration, discuss the implications of having a family history of MD and outline the steps to be taken to reduce the risks of developing the disease.
Ita Buttrose has a family history of MD and will speak on how the disease has impacted her family, and the lifestyle choices she has undertaken to reduce her risk of developing the disease.
This session is open to anyone who would like to attend but BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL via the Macular Degeneration Foundation on 1800 111 709. A free information kit will be provided which includes an Amsler grid that can be used for testing of symptoms.
