Golf tourney to honor late Minnesota comedian

MAPLEWOOD, Minn.
(AP) – The late Minnesota comedian Mitch Hedberg will be remembered with a charity golf tournament next month. Hedberg was a St. Paul native. He was 37 when he died in 2005 of an accidental drug overdose. Money raised by the tournament will go to the Minnesota Teen Challenge and Adult Programs, a residential drug and alcohol treatment program.
Hedberg’s parents are Mary and Arne Hedberg. They says they hope that another family does not have to go through the tremendous pain we have suffered” from losing a loved one.
