Keith Towne batted .328 with 25 RBIs for the Laramie Colts this summer.
Jason Morriss batted .312 with 26 RBIs for the Hays Larks this summer. Despite a record-breaking season at Angelo State last spring, Keith Towne didn’t win a championship of any kind. The new single-season ASU and Lone Star Conference home run king spent the summer in Wyoming and did win a championship — with the Laramie Colts of the Mountain Collegiate Baseball League. Towne was one of eight Rams who went off to play in collegiate leagues this summer to help improve their games for the 2010 ASU season. Towne played in a team-high 36 games for Laramie. He batted .322 with four home runs, 12 doubles and a team-high 36 RBIs. He even stole three bases for the Colts. For ASU last season, Towne batted .351 with a school-record 26 home runs and 86 RBIs.
Travis Lites also played for Laramie. In 16 games, he batted .195. Lites also pitched in a few games.
