August 25, 2009 Brown County is teaming up with the Green Bay Packers to host the sixth annual Children’s Charity Golf Classic on Sept.
9 at the Brown County Golf Course, 897 Riverdale Drive, Hobart. Proceeds from the outing support at-risk and low-income children in Brown County. The event will help fund the creation of a Child Advocacy Center for abused children. The advocacy center would support a child-based program where all community agencies involved with child-abuse cases work together to meet the needs of victims and their families. Packers President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Murphy and other Packers staff and players will be part of the day. Registration begins at 11 a.m. with a noon shotgun start. Participants regroup at 5 p.m. for dinner at the Safari Supper Club at the golf course. Hole and team prizes will be awarded. The event is open to the public. A $600 entry fee per foursome includes 18 holes of golf and a cart, lunch and beverages on the course, an event shirt and dinner.
