Celebrity guests and supporters are lining up to pay homage to the founder of the first ever Oxfam shop, now dead at age 88.
Joe Mitty MBE first startedcharity work in the days of World War II, distributing clothes to Europe’s needy.
He opened the first Oxfam shop in 1949, and since thenthat shophas paved the way forhundreds of others like it all over the world.
The original shop wasfrequently visited bycelebs including The Beatles, Harry Secombe and Sir Laurence Olivier.
Oxfam shop founder Joe Mitty was pronounced dead on Sunday night.
