For 45 years, the organization has expanded access to civil legal aid by mobilizing the legal community to provide free legal representation and advocacy. To commemorate this milestone, Philadelphia VIP is hosting a special anniversary celebration.
The Opening Doors to Advocacy: Celebrating 45 Years of Pro Bono Anniversary Gala will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 6:30 PM at the National Constitution Center. The evening will bring together attorneys, corporate partners, community leaders, and supporters to celebrate four and a half decades of expanding access to justice and strengthening the Philadelphia community. The gala will also raise vital funds to support Philadelphia VIP’s ongoing mission of providing free civil legal services through its dedicated network of volunteer legal professionals. In 1981, a group of service-minded Philadelphia lawyers founded a volunteer program in response to federal funding cuts to civil legal aid. Forty-five years later, Philadelphia VIP and our legal volunteers still open doors for hundreds of Philly residents, small businesses, and nonprofits annually.
We invite you to celebrate this milestone with us at an Anniversary Gala on Saturday, September 26, from 6:30-10:30 pm at the National Constitution Center.
