Get involved West End star Shan Cothi is used to wowing audiences across the world.
But as she tells Matt Thomas, her next performance might be close to home, but it’s set to be one of her toughest yet But next Wednesday sees her preparing to take part in a fundraising concert for the charity set up in memory of the husband she lost to pancreatic cancer just two years ago. It will be, she says, a moment of conflicting emotions. “It’s very much a mix of feelings, really. On one hand there is, of course, that terrible sadness that you feel, thinking about what you’ve lost,” she reveals. “But then, of course, there’s the intense joy that comes from our friends coming together to do something as special as this.” Her friends include musical star John Owen-Jones, Last Choir Standing winners Only Men Aloud! and singer/songwriter Caryl Parry Jones.
They have come together for Amser Justin Time, the charity which Cothi established following the death of husband Justin Smith, aka Pepsi Tate, the bassist with glam band Tigertailz.
