August 21, 2009 CHARITY: Las Vegas entertainers Earl Turner and Lani Misalucha, headlining in “Voices†at the Las Vegas Hilton, are among the celebrities
who will entertain at a charity event for the Children’s Service Guild of Southern Nevada this weekend at Green Valley Ranch. Also on the roster of performers are Kelly Clinton, impressionist Larry G. Jones and sleight of hand magician Stephane Vanel. “Stars Among the Angels,†an afternoon show, is free but donations are accepted. For $15 guests may attend a “celebrity meet and greet†cocktail party after the show. Musical director and keyboardist Michael Shane and his 11-piece Metropolitan Club Orchestra will back up the entertainers for the event, the fourth in a series of charitable events to raise money for the organization that provides refuge for children placed in protective custody. “Our vision is to raise awareness and funds for the Children’s Service Guild,†says Shane. “For 40 years members of the Guild have collected contributions to help children who have been touched by the Clark County Family Court System.â€
The Guild provides medical, dental and vision care, clothing, toys, bedding and physical support.
