If you were in Manuka last week, you might have seen a tertiary lecturer romping about in skates, pink tutu and tool belt, but dont worry Nigel Lowe was just getting wacky for charity.
The building and construction lecturer at The Manukau Institute of Technology is on a mission to find sponsorship for a trip to Ethiopia. Lowe will be taking his skills with him to build homes in villages through the Habitat for Humanitys Global Village project.
Lowe admits wearing the wacky outfit was the scariest thing I have ever done, but even a tertiary lecturer can face the terrors of a pink tutu for a great charity cause.
