Patricia Arquette stars in a new role for PETA, highlighting pet abandonment.

The Medium star can be seen in a new PETA ad asking pet owners to spay and neuter their pets, and to adopt rather than buy from pet stores or breeders.

The ad backs up the plea with some staggering figures, over 7 million dogs and cats turn up at American animal shelters every year, and nearly half of them don't find a home.
