Operation Skyward Run the Runway: Ready, Set, Go!

Feel the wind hitting your face as you run down an airport runway to raise funds for a charity air ambulance.

You’ve heard the phrase, “panther down the runway” in modelling or pageant shows wherein the term “runway” refers to a narrow, T-shaped stage. But what if you were given a chance to run on an actual airport runway? If that thought got you excited and you live in Perth, Australia, you’re in luck as Operation Skyward Run the Runway is set to happen on September 6. Happening at the Perth Airport, you’ll have the chance to run in the 2.5km, 5km, or 10km categories wherein a bespoke finisher’s medal and a crew of amazing supporters will be waiting at the finish line for you. Proceeds raised will go to Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance whose mission is “to ensure that no one in Scotland suffers or dies because medical help can’t get there in time.”

Join us for our first ever Run the Runway for Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance!

Operation Skyward Run the Runway will take place on Saturday 6th of September 2025 and offers participants a unique experience of running 2.5km, 5km or 10km on Perth Airport’s runway whilst raising vital funds to support your local air ambulance service.

With a tarmac and grass route – whether you are starting out to be a casual or experienced runner, a keen supporter of SCAA or, if running a runway when all flights have ceased is on your bucket list – we’d love you to join us.

The primary goal for this exclusive and unique running event is to raise vital funds, as this leap forward in life-saving capability comes at a cost. SCAA must raise an additional £2 million in 2025 to fund these operational enhancements. As a 100% publicly funded charity, we rely on your support to ensure that no one in Scotland dies because help cannot get there in time.

Join us in this vital mission and sign up for this unique run today!

According to experts, running is the one of the best cardio exercises a person can do. As a matter of fact, running for at least 10 minutes a day can lower your risk of getting cardiovascular disease. This September, get a great (and unique) workout in while you help push for a great cause. Click here to sign up for Operation Skyward Run the Runway now.
