There’s a line from The Lion King song “Circle of Life” that goes, “’Til we find our place, on the path unwinding, in the circle, the circle of life.” On March 21, 2024, the people behind Born Free are hoping that you’ll find your way to Royal Lancaster London for the Footsteps to Freedom Ball. A gathering of like-minded people who believe that “Protecting wildlife, protects people,” this event promises to be one of glamour, entertainment, and compassion. Proceeds from this ball will go to funding the different programs of Born Free, from their conservation and community education programs, to their rescue and care sanctuaries, to their campaigns against wildlife trade.

Last year, the World Wide Fund for Nature published a report stating that there has been a decline of 69% in the global wildlife population since 1970 due to climate change and other human activity. According to the report, “1 million plants and animals face extinction, with 1%-2.5% of mammals, birds, reptiles, fish and amphibians having already gone extinct.” Organizations such as Born Free are trying to turn these numbers around by actively engaging different communities and working with them to build “sustainable systems for coexistence.” To be able to continue this, they would need your help. Be part of the movement to save wildlife today for a better tomorrow. Get your tickets to the Footsteps to Freedom Ball here now.
