Organ and tissue donation can give people facing serious illness or injury a second chance at life. Behind every donation is a donor and their family, whose decision can have a profound and lasting impact on recipients and their loved ones.
DonateLife NT works to promote organ and tissue donation and support the donation process across the Northern Territory. The organization’s work helps raise awareness about the importance of donation while recognizing the generosity of donor families. The DonateLife NT Thank You Day 2026 will take place on Sunday, 15 November 2026, at 6:00 PM at Lake Alexander (the beach park), East Point Reserve, Darwin.
The relaxed community event is an opportunity to recognize and thank donor families and friends who said yes to donation, helping provide many people with a second chance at life. Guests are encouraged to bring a plate to share, creating a casual atmosphere for families, friends, and members of the donation community to connect. There will also be an optional stroll around the lake for those who would like to participate.
Because the event takes place during Darwin’s wet season, attendees are asked to confirm their intention to attend so they can be notified if the event needs to be cancelled because of weather conditions. More than simply a social gathering, Thank You Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the generosity of donor families and the lives that have been changed through organ and tissue donation.
Join DonateLife NT on November 15, 2026, to thank donor families and celebrate the second chances that organ and tissue donation can provide.
