DSIDQ Masquerade Ball 2026 | Down Syndrome Australia

Join the DSIDQ Masquerade Ball on October 23, 2026, to celebrate inclusion and raise funds supporting people with intellectual disabilities across Queensland.

People with intellectual disability can face barriers caused by stereotypes, assumptions, and misconceptions about what they can achieve. Promoting inclusion and creating opportunities for people to be recognised for their individual strengths, talents, and aspirations can help build more accepting and supportive communities.

Down Syndrome Australia works to improve the lives of people with Down syndrome and promote greater inclusion and understanding across the community. Through advocacy, support, education, and community initiatives, the organisation works toward a society where people with Down syndrome can participate fully and be recognised for their individual abilities.

The DSIDQ Masquerade Ball 2026 will take place on Friday, 23 October 2026, bringing together the community, corporate partners, advocates, and supporters for an evening of celebration and fundraising.

As the organisation’s major annual fundraising event, the Masquerade Ball will raise vital funds to support people with intellectual disabilities across Queensland. This year’s event follows the theme “Discover the Real Me,” encouraging guests to look beyond stereotypes, labels, and assumptions surrounding people with intellectual disability. The theme highlights the importance of seeing each person as an individual, recognising their personality, strengths, talents, and aspirations rather than defining them by a disability.

Guests will come together in a masquerade setting to celebrate inclusion while supporting initiatives that help people with intellectual disability participate more fully in their communities. The DSIDQ Masquerade Ball is more than a night of entertainment and fundraising—it is an opportunity to challenge perceptions, celebrate individuality, and contribute to a more inclusive Queensland.

Discover the real person behind the assumptions and join here for the DSIDQ Masquerade Ball on October 23, 2026.

This year’s event will take the form of a masquerade ball, aligned with the powerful theme, Discover the Real Me. The theme challenges stereotypes surrounding people with intellectual disability and encourages the community to look beyond assumptions, labels, and perceptions to truly see the individual for who they are — their personality, strengths, talents, and aspirations.
