Parkinson’s disease is a neurological condition that can affect movement, sleep, speech, mood, thinking, and everyday independence. With no current cure, continued research and funding are important for improving understanding, developing treatments, and working toward a future without Parkinson’s.
Shake It Up Australia Foundation funds innovative Parkinson’s research in Australia and supports scientists working to improve treatments and ultimately find a cure. Founded in 2011, the Foundation has made research funding a central part of its work to advance Parkinson’s research.
The Shake Up Gala is a 2026 event that will take place on Saturday, 14 November 2026, from 6:30 PM to 11:30 PM at the Art Gallery of NSW.
The event will be a black-tie cocktail evening bringing together supporters and members of the community to raise funds for Parkinson’s research. Parkinson’s can have a wide-ranging impact on people’s lives, affecting physical movement as well as sleep, communication, mood, cognition, and independence. Supporting research can help scientists investigate new approaches to understanding the disease and improving treatment options.
Funds raised through the event will support Shake It Up Australia’s Parkinson’s research efforts, helping provide resources for researchers working toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure. The evening provides an opportunity to enjoy a formal gathering at one of Sydney’s iconic cultural venues while contributing to research into a condition affecting people and families across Australia.
The Shake Up Gala is more than a black-tie evening—it is an opportunity to help fund scientific research and support the ongoing search for better treatments and a cure.
Join here on November 14, 2026, at the Art Gallery of NSW and help support Parkinson’s research with Shake It Up Australia Foundation.
