3:00pm Sunday 30th August 2009 YEOVIL Town’s Huish Park stadium will be the penultimate finishing point of the 2009 Tour of Britain cycling race
on September 18 in support of the Prostate Cancer charity. The Tour of Britain begins in North Lincolnshire at Scunthorpe on Saturday, September 12, finishing eight days later in the centre of London on Saturday, September 19. The event sees the start of the partnership between the Tour of Britain and the Prostate Cancer charity called Unite by Cycling with the money going towards helping more than 35,000 men who are diagnosed with the disease every year. One man dies from prostate cancer every hour in the UK – a frightening statistic. Chief executive of the Prostate Cancer charity, John Neale, said: “This partnership represents a really exciting new chapter in the life of the charity and a great opportunity for us to raise awareness and funds, as well as gain support on a local and national level.
“The charity is excited to be involved with the fast growing sport of cycling and the UK’s leading cycle event.â€
