The second annual Loughlin Charity Golf Open will take place at the Indian Hills Country Club, Northport, on September 14, 2009.
() The event will benefit For the Fallen, a non-profit organization which was founded in 2004 to provie financial relief to the families of militry members that were either killed or wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. “The mission of the Jim & Yvette Loughlin CHarity Golf Open is to raise money for the benefit of non-profit organizations that do outstanding work improving the quality of life, education, and health of underprivileged people thoughout the world,” said James J. Loughlin, Jr., founding principal of Loughlin Meghji + Co. and co-chairman of the upcoming event with his wife, Yvette. “We had a tremendously successful laundh of our event last year, which was held to benefit an international children’s charity, International Children’s Care, and we hope to duplicate our success this year to benefit the deserving families of our military.” “Our military and their families endure terrible burdens as they carry out multiple deployments to combat zones and lengthy tours,” said Yvette Loughlin. “Many of these families have been devastated emotionally and economically by the death or injury of a loved one. For the Fallen exists to help these families cover the costs of food, housing, medical services, college tuition, and other expenses.” ()
