Highland Fling At Lavish Charity Ball 2009: Glamorous Evening

Highland fling at lavish charity ball

A GLAMOROUS evening of “sparkles and sporrans” is in store for local charity PKAVS, which has unveiled plans for the annual Charity Ball on
Friday, August 28. The event, which takes place at Perth’s Salutation Hotel will see over 150 supporters join the local charity for a Scottish evening of dinner, dancing and an exclusive charity auction. Guests at the PKAVS Sparkles and Sporrans Charity Ball will also enjoy a civic reception hosted by Perth and Kinross Council and entertainment from professional magician Steven Dick. Local ceilidh band The Gallivanters will put guests through their paces on the dance floor. Over recent years, the PKAVS Charity Ball has gained the support of Scottish celebrities, and stars of BBC’s River City hope to return this year to take part in the entertainment. The event has also gained the support of 17-year old Scottish model Emma McInnes from Fife who has just been crowned Miss Teen Galaxy International. The charity auction will be hosted by guest auctioneer, radio DJ Jordan Burns, who recently compered PKAVS’ big event on the South Inch &ndash PKAVS Party in the Park. PKAVS’ auctions have become well known for their range of exclusive experiences and signed memorabilia.
2009’s auction prizes will celebrate the Homecoming Scotland theme and include VIP tickets to Runrig’s Homecoming gig at Scone Palace courtesy of Pete Wishart MP, and a specially-commissioned Homecoming painting by Kinross-based artist Lynn Ritchie.
