ABOUT 300 people took part in Rosebank’s Fun Day on Saturday which has been hailed as a big success by the organisers.
South Lanarkshire Provost Russell Clearie officially opened the first fun day held at Rosebank Public Park. The popular event was organised by Rosebank Village Group who only held their first committee meeting in April this year. It wasn’t just people living in Rosebank who turned out for the family fun-packed day as their neighbours from Dalserf and other surrounding villages went along for the entertainment. And there was something for everyone including a bouncy castle, face-painting, beat-the-goalie, raffles, prizes, homebaking, a tombola, nail art, jewellery by Pandora beads, games led by the Larkhall Universal Connections and Regen:FX and magic by Tommy Tricks. John McQuade, of Strathclyde Fire and Rescue, attended to raise awareness about community safety and the children were delighted to meet a real-life firefighter. A festive party night for four people, courtesy of the Shawlands Hotel, was auctioned, as was a luxury garden bench generously donated by Rosebank Garden Centre.
Raffle prizes included a meal for two in the Perch Bar and Bistro at the Popinjay Hotel, signed by new owner former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson, while two football tickets for Motherwell v Rangers were donated by Allan McRoberts of Positive Solutions.
