NEW YORK (WRCB) — In his first official engagement outside of the United Kingdom, 24 year old Prince Harry visits New York City today.
The third in line to the British throne will make stops at the World Trade Center site and attend fundraisers for his charity work. His second stop will be nearby Hanover Square, to officially rename it “The British Garden”. It is Prince Harry's first visit to the U.S. since the death of his mother, Princess Diana. The Prince is known for making headlines, from his controversial behavior to his on-and-off relationship with law student Chelsy Davy. Harry is trying to show the world another side, focusing on humanitarian and charitable work, causes that were near and dear to his mother. On Saturday the Prince will tour the Harlem's Children's Zone and later in the day compete in a polo match on Governor's Island.
The event will also serve as a fundraiser for the Prince's charity, Sentabale, which benefits AIDS orphans in Lesotho.
