Charity Boost At Watton Bowls Club 2009: Watton Loch

Charity boost at Watton Bowls Club

Watton (Loch Neaton) Bowls Club’s charity event proved highly successful.
Twenty-four members turned up for the fun bowling. Thanks to all those who generously contributed so the club achieved its target for obtaining the pulse oxymeter for the local surgery. Meanwhile the A-team, under new captain Max, started their season in the ADL Division One with an outstanding 8-0 win away to Aldiss Park. Captain Colin’s B-team suffered the reverse result going down at home by 0-8 to Swaffham B, whilst captain Val’s C-team entertained Ashill B at home finishing with a 2-6 defeat. The next fixtures (Tuesdays) see the A-team at home to Swaffham A, the B-team away to Harling and the C-team with the longer journey to play Diss B. The EBA resumes again (Wednesdays) with Watton facing a hard match playing away to Mattishall. The ladies have had a break from their league matches and a friendly was held away at Connaught Ladies. These are always enjoyable matches and help to strengthen the ties between both clubs.
