PAUL IM AFTER IS A MAJOR VICTORY

Casey sets new target as he crashes into top three Cool Paul Casey kept his nerve to seal the biggest win of his career
then set his sights on grabbing the Major title that will confirm him as one of the world’s top players. The Englishman’s BMW PGA triumph rockets him to No.3 in the world rankings after he held off a sensational final-day charge by Wentworth local Ross Fisher. Casey had to birdie the last two holes to scrape a 68 and edge out Fisher by a single shot to pick up the &pound667,000 winner’s cheque with a score of 17 under par. But now he has achieved a boyhood ambition to lift the European Tour’s flagship title he admitted Majors are next on his wanted list if he’s to really belong among the names of the only four other European golfers to reach a lofty position in the world rankings – Colin Montgomerie, Nick Faldo, IanWoosnam and Bernhard Langer. Casey said: “It’s flattering to be included among those names but I still think I have a lot to go to be even slightly close to what they achieved in their careers. “I still have lots of things to accomplish and a Major success is top of that list. There are lots of tournaments I’d love to win and this was always one of them having come toWentworth to watch it as a kid.
“There are some impressive names on that trophy and it’s nice to be part of some history.”
