HUNTINGTON BEACH John Clark watched from the grandstands south of the Huntington Beach Pier on Sunday afternoon, marveling at the athletic abilities of the
volleyball players battling it out on the sand. The city known for surfing made way for volleyball courts this weekend, as the AVP Crocs Pro Beach Volleyball Tour brought some of the best players from around the nation to compete. “Oh man, to watch them and what they do,” said Clark, who brought his family from Chino Hills to watch. “It’s just amazing.”
The Huntington Beach games are one of four major stops for the tour, and this weekend’s tournament was the first beach stop in Southern California.
