Glamorous soap stars from Hollyoaks and Coronation Street swapped their daily clobber for glitzy outfits to attend a Charity Ball in Chester.
Fresh from the recent soap star awards, guests included Kym Marsh with partner Jamie Lomas, Jenny Metcalfe, Gemma Merna and Dancing On Ice skater Chris Fountain. Proceeds from the Charity Ball went to the ‘Imagine Appeal,’ which helps provide funds for Alder Hey Hospital, and Claire House Hospice. Wearing designer outfits, the stunning cast members set the evening alight with sequins, flashing accessories and jazzy jewels. Whilst Hollyoaks actress Emma Rigby, 19, wore a golden snake clasp that set of her flowing emerald green and black dress, her fellow actress Jenny Metclaff flaunted her legs in golden Christian Louboutin shoe boots. Not to be outdone in the glamour stakes Jemma Merna, 25, who plays man-eater Carmel McQueen in the soap, wore a backless Amethyst dress. Also attending the event were 27 year old Zoe Lister, who plays Zoe Carpenter and Clare Cooper (Jacqui McQueen in Hollyoaks) glistened in cream and black sequins. Despite a recent boob job, former Hear’Say singer Kym Marsh, kept her neckline high in a black mini dress, as she partied the night away with partner Jamie Lomas Other couples included Carly Stenson with Ricky Whitton and Dancing on Ice Tour 2008 winner Chris Fountain with glamour model girlfriend Amy Diamond. Earlier in the day the TV soap celebrities laced up their football boots and headed out onto the Deva Stadium pitch for a charity football match, the home of Chester FC. Coronation Street coulpe Tina O’Brien and Ryan Thomas arrived unveiling their bonny baby girl during the day out to a soap opera charity event. Doting mum O’Brien, 25, wrapped up the six-month-old Scarlett in a brightly-coloured blanket and hood while watching the Soapstar Football Challenge in Chester. Dressed in jeans and a military-style jacket, O’Brien unfolded the baby buggy which is complete with a miniature number plate bearing her daughter’s name. Scarlett sat on the actress’s knee while they watched the game – the team made up of stars from Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Casualty, Shameless and The Bill. Proud dad Ryan, 24, carried baby Scarlett for a short while before joining the team on the pitch. It was the first time that the couple have shown off their new child, who arrived in late October, in public.
