Golf bunco raise funds for good causes

Old Ranch Country Club was the site of perfect weather and memorable fun for the 120 guests at National Charity League’s 35th Annual Golf
Classic and Bunco Tournament on March 23. Golf Co-Chairs Sue Iritani and Lisa Van Marel were thrilled to raise over $8,000 to support local philanthropies and college scholarships for deserving girls. “We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day or a nicer group of women to golf with,” said guest Nancy Roddy. These sentiments were echoed throughout the morning as golfers played nine holes of golf. Nationally known 6-year-old golf prodigy Jaden Cantafio drove off the tee for golfers who requested his assistance to help raise money for the event. A pink boa rotated to the reigning champion of the bunco game that was played indoors while the golfers enjoyed the sunshine. The 11 tables of players enjoyed the lively game of bunco as sounds of rolling dice, laughter, and cries of “bunco” filled the room. Jill Stewart and Constance Black kept everyone on track, while passing out chocolates and keeping the roving pink boa on the move. Prizes included beautiful centerpieces and Nordstrom gift certificates. Among the terrific silent auction items were sessions with a personal trainer a gondola getaway in Naples an Old Ranch Country Club golf membership an autographed Jonas Brothers picture and tickets to a taping of the “Dr. Phil” show.
