Get involved HOLLYWOOD actress Catherine Zeta-Jones hosted a glittering gala dinner at her New York home in aid of a Welsh charity campaign.
The Swansea-born star welcomed a host of celebrities, including Cardiff model and Hell’s Kitchen star Danielle Bux and her boyfriend, Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker, to her home in the Big Apple in aid of NSPCC Cymru and Wales’ Building Brighter Futures Appeal. The 39-year-old actress, who is an NSPCC ambassador, hosted the evening with Sir Stanley Thomas, chairman of the Building Brighter Futures Appeal. Mum-of-two Catherine said she fully supports a new £2.2m NSPCC Centre for Wales and the charity’s provision of direct services to tackle child abuse. Catherine is understood to have handpicked and personally invited everyone on the star-studded guest list. The project, which will have a staff of 45, is known at present as the NSPCC Centre for Wales, but a new name for the building will be decided once it has been officially opened.
Due to be up and running by the summer, the charity says the centre will be a “huge milestone” in its history, “working to improve the lives of children and young people across the country”.
