Why I Want To Be A Yummy Mummy 2009: Twentyfour Years

Why I want to be a yummy mummy

Twenty-four years ago, Lisa Gosnell reached the final of a beauty competition.
Now, aged 42 and three children later, she’s hoping to be crowned a Yummy Mummy in a new modelling competition with a twist. STRAIGHT-TALKING Lisa Gosnell has some advice for mums &ndash don’t “let yourself go” just because you have children. The mum-of-three, of Cyncoed, Cardiff, prides herself on maintaining her glamorous appearance throughout the years that have seen her give birth to a child in every decade since she was 20. Beauty advisor Lisa is one of the preened parents hoping to win a modelling contract as part of a competition aimed at unveiling the photogenic mums &ndash and dads &ndash of Wales. “People often say I look immaculate,” said Lisa, who is mum to Kelly, 20, James, nine, and Thomas, one. “I take care of myself and I like to dress up and look nice. I don’t think just because you’re a mum that should change.” It’s not the first time Lisa has aspired to be a beauty queen &ndash aged 18 she was one of 1,000 women to enter the Miss Brains competition in Cardiff and even made it to the final.
“I still feel 18,” she said. “I don’t feel any different now from how I did then except I’m probably more confident. I’ve still got the same shape and I’m still active.”
