The Ball is Back! Last year ‘The Ball 07’ proved to be a great success, raising almost $30,000
for Youth Suicide Prevention and this year is sure to impress with the closure of Manchester Street to make way for the hundreds of guests who will be dressed James Bond style, for the Casino Royale theme inside The Civic which will have all the glitz and glamour to be expected for the stars.
The chosen charity of 2008 is the well deserving Family Help Trust which operates child abuse-prevention services for high-risk families in Christchurch. It confronts the causes of family dysfunction and provides client families with the skills they need to improve their lives, and those of their children.
Many of the beautiful Bond girls will be in attendance, to cater to the needs of the charitable ball-goers while they try their luck at games such as Roulette, Poker or Blackjack thanks to the help of Christchurch Casino who have also donated a significant amount of resources to the cause.
Organisers at the Douglas Webber Group are currently seeking support from the business community for donations of goods and services which can be auctioned on the night. Hirequip has been notably generous in their support and businesses and individuals are also encouraged to support the event by purchasing tickets which includes drinks and nibbles all night. There are also a limited number of tables for ten available.
Tickets are limited to 500 and can be purchased from Christchurch Casino. A sell out is anticipated this year so those interested are urged to hurry.
