Please join us for an evening of films and frivolity…gain an insight into the challenges and triumphs of Sudanese refugees as they start a new life in Australia after decades of war and life on hold in refugees camps have torn their worlds apart.
Featuring the short film ‘Nomads’ as well as the feature length documentary ‘Breaking the Silence’ plus a spectacular performance from Synodos, talented young Sudanese refugees who tell their stories through theatre and hip hop. Scrumptious snacks and drinks will be available on the night from the Sorghum Sisters, traditional Horn of African caterers.
All proceeds support the inaugural Australian Sudanese Youth Conference in December an opportunity for 500 Sudanese youth delegates from across Australia to come together to share their resettlement journey, learn from each others experiences and to further assist in their integration into their new society.
