2010 Camaro premiere, charity auction set for Sebring Specail to the News-Sun SEBRING – The Alan Jay Automotive Network will introduce the new 2010
Chevrolet Camaro at a community-wide “Block Party” and auction on the historic Circle in downtown Sebring on Wednesday. The event will kick off at 5 p.m., with complimentary food and beverages provided for the public, free giveaways a live radio remote broadcast and much more. Two brand-new 2010 Camaro sports cars will arrive on the Circle at 6 p.m., with a full introduction and vehicle demonstration given at 6:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., both Camaros will be auctioned to the general public, with some of the proceeds going to benefit Highlands County charities. The winning bidder will be able to select which charity – from a list provided – will receive the auction proceeds. “This is a very exciting car, and we thought it would be only fitting if we introduced the car to the public at a downtown event,” stated Alan Jay Wildstein, president of the Alan Jay Automotive Network. Wildstein added, “It wasn’t that many years ago that a new car premiere was a big event, but that seems to have died down over recent years. With all of the news regarding the automotive industry lately, it seems like a perfect time to throw a party, featuring one of the most familiar cars ever made … the Camaro.” While the Camaro became a popular American automotive icon back in the 1960s, the legend grew even larger during the ’70s and ’80s. The all-new 2010 model marks the long-awaited return of the quintessential American muscle car to the streets of America. The newest Camaro offers two high-performance engines to choose from a booming 3.6 liter V-6 engine boasting 304 horse-power, and – for the most demanding drivers – a high-performance 6.2 liter V-8 whose thunderous 426 horses can easily implant a permanent manic grin on any driver lucky enough to climb behind the wheel.
The car is jam-packed with the latest technological features both inside and outside the coupe, including an available six-speed transmission, anti-lock brakes, traction control, anti-skid system, wireless cell phone link, remote vehicle starter and much, much more. In fact, the V-6 engine delivers a whopping 29mpg on the highway, a truly amazing feat for such a powerful engine.
