The Gravel Grandeur Challenge invites you to experience the unique blend of 60% champagne gravel and 40% paved roads. Starting at Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort, you’ll embark on a three-day expedition through aspen forests, over mountain peaks, and across the continental divide to Vail. With daily routes ranging from 35 to 50 miles—and an epic 80-mile finale—this challenge tests your endurance and rewards you with breathtaking views and the chance to make a real difference in the lives of CAF athletes.

Embark on your Gravel Grandeur expedition amidst the breathtaking landscape around Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort. Conquer a diverse mix of champagne gravel, smooth pavement and vehicle free bike paths with average ride distances of 35-50 miles. The challenge of riding at 8,000+ elevation will be rewarded with views of mountain peaks and aspen forests. On the epic third day, journey eastward on an 80-mile route over the continental divide to Vail with combined gravel and road riding. The event culminates in Vail with favorite local rides and mountain hospitality.
