A STATELY home near Abergele is set to go classical this summer when it hosts a proms night to raise money for charity.
“We had a successful event last year so we’ve decided to give it another go, and we’re hoping it can become an annual event,” said Bryn Jones, one the event’s organisers. “We’ve got a great selection of artists lined up this year, and I’m really looking forward to seeing them perform at Coed Coch this summer. “The weather was very hot and balmy last year, and I’m just hoping the conditions will be as good as it was for us last year.” The show will also see a number of local favourites performing, including a guest appearance from the Betws-yn-Rhos Male Voice Choir. Visitors to the show are being promised a picnic-style evening in similar style to last year’s event, and are asked to bring their own picnic and seating with them to enjoy the performance. Funds raised from the event will be split between the Royal Welsh Clwyd Fund, part of the region’s contribution to this year’s Royal Welsh Show, and Wales Air Ambulance.
Tickets for the show, which cost £15, are available from Rhyl Pavilion by contacting 0870 330 000.
