Grant will perform during the tournament’s pairings party that matches amateurs with professionals for the event’s Pro-Ams.
The party, which is being held at the Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa, also includes a charity auction. Money raised from the auction will benefit Challenge America. Grant and her husband, country music star Vince Gill, got involved in this new effort through Challenge Aspen, a Colorado-based nonprofit that they’ve supported for nine years that provides adaptive skiing and snowboarding programs and other recreational opportunities to people with disabilities. The couple will launch Challenge America June 8 with a star-studded event June 8 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. “I came from a family of all girls, and none of us were in the military,” Grant said Tuesday. “But when I was invited to come out to Challenge Aspen and help raise money for the this program that provides services to people with disabilities of all kinds, of all ages, it opened my eyes to the blessings and opportunities that I took for granted in my own life, and it made me realize I have been given so much I have got to give back.” Grant earlier today was at a Hoover hotel, working with a film crew on a video about Challenge America that will be shown during the Kennedy Center event. Gill is scheduled to play golf Thursday in the Regions Charity Classic Pro-Am. Tournament activities began today and continue at Ross Bridge through Sunday. Go Amy!
