Another Record Toss In Green Bay

Volunteers sort the more than 6,000 bears collected during the Green Bay Gamblers’ 10th annual “Teddy Bear Toss” on Saturday night.
Michael Forney did the honors, scoring the first goal of the game for Green Bay, on a power play at 4:51 of the first period. The Gamblers also set a franchise attendance record, as 6,785 people made their way through the Resch Center turnstyles. The previous mark of 6,578 was set on February 23, 2007, also a “Teddy Bear Toss” night. All of the new bears will be given to pediatric patients at Aurora BayCare Medical Center. The used bears will be donated to various charity groups throughout Northeast Wisconsin. The USHL is celebrating its 30th season of junior hockey in 2008-09. With over 150 players already committed to NCAA Division I schools and 16 NHL Draft picks playing in the league, the USHL is the nation’s foremost producer of junior hockey talent.
