Polar Plunge – Jump into frigid Lake Monona for a good cause at the , a fundraising event benefiting Special Olympics Wisconsin. This year marks the event’s 10th anniversary and celebrates a full decade of fun, excitement and chattering teeth at Olin-Turville Park. If you are having, ahem, cold feet but still want to contribute to charity, you can register as a “chicken,” raise pledges and be featured in a chicken dance with other “chickens” at the Plunge. Participants should bring a towel, dry clothes and guts to the event on Saturday, Feb. 21. Plunging takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. After diving into the cold depths, warm yourself up at the post-Plunge party at the Coliseum Bar featuring a band, raffle, concessions, beverages, souvenirs and more. Bach’s This concert, set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, will include the Preludes and Fugues in the second part of Book I (F major through B minor). Artistic director Trevor Stephenson will perform on his replica 17th-century Flemish harpsichord. Stephenson will lecture about the tuning method as well as Bach’s life, teaching and personality.
St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1833 Regent St., hosts the event. Tickets cost $25 at the door $20 for students and seniors.
