Ayr Man To Cycle Arran For Charity 2009: Hersquoll Trains

Ayr man to cycle Arran for charity

HE’LL use trains, boats and a bike to complete the fundraiser with a difference.
But big-hearted Stephen Hall reckons his round-island cycle is long overdue. The carpet fitter is set to pedal the 60 miles around Arran in one day to raise funds for motor neurone disease. Brother Ronald has been struck with the degenerative illness at the age of just 42. And Stephen says it’s time he got on his bike to do something he should have done a long time ago. The Ayr man admitted: “I wake up and see Arran all the time, so there’s really no excuse for not going there. “When I was thinking of doing this challenge, I could easily have gone somewhere outside my front door and cycled the same distance.
“But Arran is something of a mecca for cyclists and it should be a great challenge.”
