Big benefits from 2268364732sheer indulgence

A DOZEN big hearted Perth city centre businesses have raised over &pound1000 at a special charity event for the Perth and Kinross Young Carers
Project. Labelled “An Evening of Sheer Indulgence,” on show at the Salutation Hotel were beauty treatments from Espa, hairstyling from the Cutting Room, wine tasting by Roddy McDonald Wines and designer jewellery from Lorraine Law. Also tempting guests were handmade chocolates from The Wicked Chocolate Company, lingerie from Miss Forsyth, stylish clothing from Sam Thomas, delicious deli food from the Smart Good Food Shop, coffee tasting from The Bean Shop, luxury leather goods from Martin and McQueen and lots more. Based on a successful event in Dundee, which is now in its third year, the businesses were keen to raise money for local charities. Lorraine Law explained: “We wanted to create an event that was fun to come along to and that showcased the amazing range of products and services that’s available through Perth’s local businesses. Everyone who came along on the evening had a great time and they were blown away by what’s available on their doorstep.” It supports youngsters under the age of 18 whose life is in some way restricted by a need to take responsibility for the care of someone within the home. This person may have an illness, a disability, experiencing mental health difficulties, or is affected by drug or alcohol misuse. They may care for parents, a sibling or a grandparent.
These circumstances can have a significant impact on a young carer and the Perth and Kinross Young Carers project provides invaluable support and respite.
