Brat Days Lands Poison Front Man 2009: Summers Brat

Brat Days lands Poison front man

This summer’s Brat Days will become the Brat of Love.
Organizers of the 56th annual Johnsonville Brat Days confirmed Wednesday that Poison front man and reality TV star Bret Michaels is scheduled to bring his Rock of Love tour to the festival on July 31. “To us, this is just huge,” said Bob Konrad, Brat Days entertainment coordinator. “We are thanking our lucky stars everything fell into place.” Brat Days, which is coordinated every year by the Sheboygan Jaycees, is a summertime ritual that includes a parade, entertainment, games, beer and, of course, brats. This year’s festival is scheduled to run July 30 and Aug. 1 at Kiwanis Park. “Everyone will be very happy with the mix we bring in,” Konrad said. According to the bio on his Web site, Michaels has been the lead singer and songwriter for Poison for 22 years, with 25 million albums sold in his career and 15 Top 40 hits. For three seasons, Michaels has starred in the hit VH1 “Celebreality” show, Rock of Love, where women compete for the rocker’s affections. The latest incarnation of the show, “Rock of Love Bus,” airs Sundays at 8 p.m. locally and is the music network’s top-rated show.
Brat Days Chairman John Cinealis said he has pushed to get a Michaels appearance at the festival for years, but didn’t think they really had a chance.
