When the biggest names of bull riding come to the new hometown of the Professional Bull Riders, you can expect a big event.
Fans from over 25 different states have already booked reservations to come to Pueblo this weekend to watch the Professional Bull Riders Built Ford Tough Series featuring the world’s top 40 bull riders. While they’re here, the PBR is also throwing a big party in downtown Pueblo to celebrate. The Wild Wild West Fest is a five day street festival and charity fundraiser. “It’s huge!” said Randy Bernard, CEO of the Professional Bull Riders Association. “I hope it’s going to be our second largest event on the tour, the first one of course being Las Vegas.” The Wild Wild West Fest starts Wednesday night and will run through Sunday with the bulk of the events taking place along the Riverwalk and the Union Avenue Historic District. Bernard says 100 percent of the proceeds raised during the event will benefit local charities. “We wanted to create an event that number one, was an economic stimulus to the community of Pueblo, number two was 100 percent for charity and last we wanted to bring national recognition to the city of Pueblo with a nationally televised event,” Bernard said. The bull riding competition takes place on Saturday and Sunday at the state fair grounds. On Thursday, watch for a special live broadcast of news first at 5 and 6 from the Wild Wild West Fest.
