Catching Up With More Former Baseball Horns 2009: Reunion Former

Catching up with more former baseball Horns

My reunion with former UT baseball players hasn’t stopped.
I knew I was going to play softball with Greg Swindell, Kirk Dressendorfer, and Brooks Kieschnnick last weekend. Fun times. But I ran into some more today. Will Crouch and Justin Simmons were playing golf with Olympic swimmer Garrett Weber-Gale today at the Colin’s Hope charity event. The charity creates and supports programs that aid in preventing children from drowning. Crouch and Simmons are out of baseball and living in the Austin area. Both said they were doing well and they’ve been having some fun playing in and adult baseball league around here. Crouch joked about being sore from doing a little pitching. And remember Chance Wheeless. World Series hero in 2005 with the bum shoulder. He’s lost his job in minor league baseball and is trying to get back… as a pitcher! He was working out with UT pitching coach Skip Johnson today at the Disch. It is reunion week. I coached a little league game against Charles Abernathy last night. His team won by the way. My son’s team has another game this weekend. And the way this week has gone, I’m betting I see another former Horn at that game, as well.
