Later, a speech was delivered by RTB Acting Director Hj Mahrub Hj Murni, who noted that the four-day event turned out to be a
huge success. The show received overwhelming response and the feedback was positive, indicating that this show was a lot more successful than the last one. A Malaysian colleague who was in the country commented that the RTB Carnival was much better than one of the popular carnivals in Malaysia, he added. The overwhelming response was not purely for the exhibition and the RTB Award 2008, but also the carnival games, Uni Arcade games, remote control races and the ghost house. Ticket sales for the four-day event raised $19,792.10 in total. The proceeds will be channeled to the Palestinian Humanitarian Fund and the Flood and Landslide Fund. Present to receive the donations were Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs Pg Abd Haris bin Pg Hj Shabudin in his capacity as co-chairman of the National Flood and Landslide Fund, and Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Paduka Awg Hj Jemat bin Hj Ampal in his capacity as co-chairman of the Palestinian Humanitarian Fund. Meanwhile, representing SMARTER was its president Malai Hj Abdullah Malai Hj Othman, who received a donation of $1,000, which were proceeds from the SMS Voting of the RTB Awards 2008.
The RTB Awards 2008 and the RTB Carnival saw Cityneon Brunei working hand in hand with RTB to make the fundraising charity event a success.
