Charity Aims To Resurrect Regional Bus Service 2009: Childrens Charity

Charity aims to resurrect regional bus service

A children’s charity group hopes to raise enough money during its annual appeal today to bring back a bus service to regional areas.
The Starlight Foundation runs programs to distract seriously ill children from their illness and make them happy. It includes a bus service that travels to children in hospitals in the Goulburn Murray region. Spokeswoman Jessica Brophy says the economic climate has forced them to wind back the service. “So we need our annual major fundraising event to be a huge success this year,” she said. “Nationally we’re aiming for a target of $1.6 million. “We’d love to be able to get more than that so that we can bring the Starlight Express van back onto the road.”
Social media can be used to connect people suffering from the same ailments.
