MORE than £5,000 was raised for Homestart Southport and Formby at the charity’s fundraising ball.
More than 100 people gathered at the Bold Hotel in Southport to raise vital funds for the voluntary organisation promoting the welfare of families with children under five years old. Guests were entertained by singer Nick Donnelly and walked away with prizes from heads and tails bingo, an auction and a raffle. Fiona Foulder, vice chairman of Homestart Southport and Formby, said: “The event went really well and all the guests seemed to enjoy themselves. “We are very happy with the amount raised. The running costs of the charity is £120,000 a year so every little helps. “I would like to thank Barclays for match funding the amount raised and also for the entertainment committee for organising the event.” A FORMBY man has returned back from the Cannes Film Festival after showcasing a short film his company produced at the prestigious French event.
