Charity basketball game helps local families

February 21, 2009 READINGTON &mdash The Shannon Daley Memorial Fund will host its eighth annual Charity Basketball Event on Wednesday, March 4 at the
Hunterdon Central Regional High School Fieldhouse in Flemington. The Readington Men’s All Star Team will once again take on the world-renowned Harlem Wizards. Game time is 7 p.m. The Shannon Daley Memorial Fund mission is to assist local families facing financial hardship due to a child battling serious ailment. This year’s first recipient is Andrew Greenbaum from Clinton, who was paralyzed last year from a snowboarding accident. The second recipient is 2-month-old Sydney Taborelli from Hampton, who was born with a severe birth defect called Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. Business opportunities are available for advertisers. Ad rates are as follows: full page $1,000, half page $500 and quarter page $250. All donations of $50 or more will be noted in the program. Tickets for the game are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger in advance. All tickets are $10 at the door. Donations also can be made directly to the Fund at anytime.
