She learned to play instruments and studied music while attending a Christian college. When she started working, she moonlighted as a singer and performer. It wasn’t until she realized that her hobby was a full-time occupation that she decided to focus solely on her music. “People I knew just kept asking me to sing here and there, and I just had a full schedule (of performances),†Nevel said.
That was more than 20 years ago, and Nevel, an Enola resident, now runs the Music Ministry, combining performances for her music while leading worship. “I write songs, play piano and travel to do concerts,†she said. “(The Music Ministry) is a wide variety of things.†The combination of music and worship was what attracted Glenda Taylor to Nevel.
