Charity Dirt Track Event Will Feature Lucas Oil Racers 2009: Cleveland Tenn

Charity dirt track event will feature Lucas Oil racers

CLEVELAND, Tenn.
— The Third Annual Race for Juvenile Diabetes will take place at Cleveland Speedway on June 16, with the feature race a Lucas Oil Series Championship event. “We are really excited about this year’s Race for Juvenile Diabetes,” said Cleveland Speedway owner and promoter Monty Morrow. “Car Smart is going to sell chances on a car with all proceeds going to Juvenile Diabetes. Advance Auto Parts is on board as is Lucas Oil and General Tire.” Not only will a car be given away, there will be rides auctioned off with top Lucas Oil Late Model drivers like Jimmie Owens handling the chauffeuring duties, plus driver autograph sessions with some of the nation’s top Late Model drivers as well as NASCAR stars. For the first time in Cleveland Speedway history, the nation’s number one Dirt Late Model traveling series, The Lucas Oil Series, will be running a national championship event at the 1/3-mile clay oval. The race will be a 40-lap event paying $7,000 to win with a $1,500-to-win Crate Late Model feature and an A-Hobby feature. “We are real close to signing a couple of NASCAR stars to come in for the event,” Morrow said. “There are a lot of other things we are working on and when they are in place, we will let everyone know. So stay tuned.” For more information about Cleveland Speedway’s biggest event of the season, The Third Annual Race for Juvenile Diabetes, visit clevelandspeedway.com, where new information will be posted on a regular basis.
