CRICHTON Royal Bowling Club held their annual charities day on Sunday.
This year the ladies of the club selected The Food Train, which was established by in 1995 to help elderly region’s elderly. At the end of the day the club was delighted to hand over a cheque for £400. On receiving the cheque, Michelle McCrindle of The Food Train said the much needed funds will be used across all of Dumfries and Galloway delivering groceries to elderly people. On behalf of the charity, she was extremely grateful for everyone’s kindness and generosity. The open competition was a mixed American triples event. The trophy was presented by vice president Rena Denholm and the winners were father, mother and son, Malcolm, Susan and Colin Ramage of the home club with runners-up Cathy and Jim Sim (Dumfries) and Ralph Richardson (New Abbey) while Margaret and Craig Watret and Josie Wallace of Crichton Royal Bowling Club came third.
