Charity Fashion Show To Feature Bridal Wear Over The Past Century 2009: Unique Fashion

Charity fashion show to feature bridal wear over the past century

A unique fashion show in New Dundee tomorrow will feature the best of bridal fashions spanning the past 100 years.
A Century of Bridal Fashions at the New Dundee Community Centre, tomorrow at 2 p.m., will have models strutting the runway in gowns of all sorts and guests are encouraged to wear their wedding finery. Not bridal gowns, of course, but any outfit suitable for attending a wedding will do. The event is presented by the New Dundee Women’s Institute as a fundraiser for the Tweedsmuir History Project. Launched in 2008, the project involves digitizing the history of the area gleaned from 21 Women’s Institute scrapbooks containing written notes, artifacts and newspaper articles covering 175 years of area history. This history will be available online to the public and an educational program will be created and added to the Grade 2, 3 and 10 curriculum.
Tickets $20, call Beckey Heck 519-576-3543 or Linda Stoltz 519-696-8956.
