Charity Golf Is Backed 2009: Charity Golf

Charity golf is backed

A charity golf tournament in support of the disabled has gained the support of Winton Capital Management.
The donation was presented by Winton Capital Management director Toby Leyland to BMI vice-president Adel Sultan and liaison officer and fund-raiser Dreena Rogers. The Riffa Views Shaikh Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa Memorial Trophy is an annual event that is held to raise money for Bahrain Mobility International (BMI), a non-profit organisation that runs solely on donations. The centre was established in 1979 to cater to the needs of the disabled in Bahrain. It has more than 80 active members that benefit from its training workshops, physical therapy facilities, sports events and other activities. There is also a nursery attached to the centre, which caters to children aged three to six and prepares them to integrate into the community once they start school. BMI welcomes all disabled to take part in its activities. Its facilities are free, and no annual fees are charged. The Riffa Views Shaikh Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa Memorial Trophy 2009 is organised by the Royal Golf Club and will be held from March 19 to 21.
A total of 240 golfers will compete over the three days in a better ball format at the King’s private golf course, in Safriya.
