The M.A. Knight Manor was built in 1915 and was the residence of Maurice Knight, who was a leader in international manufacturing of acid-proof chemical stoneware and the son of Akron’s own Charles Knight, former head of the Chemistry Department at what is now The University of Akron. The M.A. Knight Manor was chosen to be restored as part of the Junior League’s Showhouse 2009 fundraising event.
The showcase event runs through May 24. All the money raised will go toward funding the JLA’s outreach programs.
